Exclusive Stream:Neftaraka-Morts

From darkened shrines comes the upcoming album from Malaysian black metallers Neftaraka titled Morts which drops 1/21/12 via Eldritch Lunar Miasma Records. As most of you probably know by now I’m a huge sucker for black metal releases and this album was no exception.

Morts opens up with a spoken intro that descends the listener into a realm where only fear  and madness have survived, setting the pace for the gut wrenching old school black metal symphony to come. The album unfolds from there as a chronicle of despair, sending wave after wave of heavy hitting terror laid upon pulse pounding riffage that will leave even the most hardcore of fans quaking in the wake. Morts finds itself dripping with classic influence from black metal pioneers Celtic Frost, Burzum, Mayhem, and even Khold, allowing the album to reflect at its core a sound that is both truly unique and yet all too familiar.

The progression of Morts comes to its zenith with the track “Pandemonium” which shows a more noise ridden down-tempo that gives birth to the finality of what I can only describe as a face first plunge into the symphonic composition that will ultimately redefine black metal. The outro tracks allow the listener to regain their composure as a haunting melody is softened by whispering words, but only for a moment, then like the coming of storms collides into a thunderous upheaval that terrifies to the last fading breath.

Bottom line, fucking excellent black metal release from a band who has only seen one full length prior to this, begging the question of how much more will we see this band grow in the future. Thanks to our friends over at Cacophonic we have the full album ready to stream in the player below, if you’d like to see what else the band has to offer you can check out their Facebook Page, enjoy!
