Bearing influence from the deep, dark trenches of Louisiana’s whisky-fuelled sludge, Iron Witch blends styles mirroring that of Black Sabbath, Sleep, St. Vitus, and a hint of Black Flag to keep the air of nihilism true to heart. Within the past few weeks I’ve just discovered this band and have been wanting to do a write-up on them for quite some time.

Iron Witch basks in the malice of rotten sludge, perpetuating an open ended source when hate and consequence collide. In August of 2011 the band would see their first EP released titled “Single Malt” which was released through Witch Hunter Records. The EP would define the bands gloom and doom while still reflecting the influence of southern styles of sludge and down-tempo.
