Baltimore, MD record label A389 RECORDINGS will be celebrating their 8th Anniversary on Saturday January 21, 2012 at the Sonar Compound in Baltimore, MD.
The annual concert features rare performances by diverse lineups from within the D.I.Y. hardcore/punk/metal/doom community. Most of which have released music or are connected in some shape/form on A389. Previous concerts have featured rare and exclusive appearances by the likes of HAYMAKER, STARKWEATHER ROT IN HELL, PALE CREATION, and Canadian heavy metal god THOR to name a few. Fans travel from all over the world to meet in Baltimore for a cold January weekend full of bands they are unlikely to be seen performing together anywhere else.
This year’s Anniversary Bash is A389′s biggest/most ambitious effort to date: 2 stages and 16 bands, including holy terror mainstays INTEGRITY who will be co-headlining alongside NOLA’s legendary EYEHATEGOD. Also traveling for exclusive appearances will be California’s GEHENNA, SEVEN SISTERS OF SLEEP, LOW PLACES and Florida’s JUNIOR BRUCE. Checking in from the North will be Canada’s PICK YOUR SIDE (which features ex-members of Chokehold, Left For Dead and Haymaker), HOMEWRECKER, and WEEKEND NACHOS. The show will be rounded off by regional bands FULL OF HELL, MAGRUDERGRIND, YOUNG AND IN THE WAY, TRIAC, HATEWAVES, EDDIE BROCK and PULLING TEETH whom will be performing their final concert at this year’s A389 BASH.
Founded in 2004 by Domenic Romeo (guitarist of PULLING TEETH/HATEWAVES), A389 RECORDINGS has since released close to 100 titles on vinyl, during it’s eight years of existence. A389‘s releases range from their trademark brand of dark metallic hardcore, to raw punk, neofolk, thrash/death metal, doom and shoegaze releases. Ultimately, good music is good music.
